We think about anatomy as something very clinical, and yet it is fundamentally the most human part about us. The characters in this book, Gary and Sadie are depicted in a photograph on the first page. On a semi-transparent overlay, the story of how they met is written. The remainder of the book is to analyze what we are made of. The same, fundamental things that each human body contains, structure and energy.
Everyone has somewhere they call home. Our houses expose our quirks and our particularities that can’t quite be put into words. “The Most Familiar Places” aims to acquaint the viewer with the familiar, and begs them to speculate about it and peel back the layers to discover the unfamiliar. As the pages are turned, the information on the exteriors and the interiors are displayed with an inverse effect.
H is For Home is a prototype of a coffee table book consisting of different rooms in a house highlighting specific objects according to the alphabet. Its intimate nostalgic feel is pushed by the ABC book concept and the dark, limited color palette. It is meant to convey a sense of home and a safe, peaceful place.
At what point do numbers become art? At what point can we stop understanding how vast a distance is? Larger Than Lifesize is a coffee table book that takes the reader out into space starting with the moon and eventually to the entire universe. It is a quiet, minimally designed and thought provoking piece, created to give space for contemplation and introspection.
This brand book showcases the guidelines for the fictional brand, Sunbeat. I designed Sunbeat as a brand geared towards children but as a product that can be used by anyone. Sunbeat's durable audio gear encourages users to get out in nature and march to the beat of their own soundtrack.
Untild Stories was designed as a middle school curriculum guide with a narrative spin, chronicling the mass exodus of Jews from Egypt in the 20th century. Facilitated by the Sephardic Heritage Museum, it was distributed to 6th-8th graders in four community schools.
The first volume of a series in process showcases the relationship formed by my childhood friend and a Holocaust survivor, Jack, we've formed a bond with over the last four years. It consists of photographs collected of Jack in his youth as well as photos taken by me of a lunch Jack cooked for us.
This hand painted children's book done in watercolor tells the story of a prickly pear who wants nothing more than to be hugged by his fruit friends.
Okay? Okay! Okay. Okay... so many different meanings to a very simple word. This monochromatic zine analyzes how a dry word can have a myriad of connotations.
